David Thompson

The All-Big Eight and All-American Running Back has more than proved himself on the football field. Averaging over 1,000 yards per year, David has emerged as one of the top running backs to ever play at Oklahoma State University. David has excelled as an athlete and has exhibited that same drive and determination in the classroom as well. Thompson, a speech communications major, is well on his way toward graduation. David has utilized many of the services provided by ASSA and has been able to balance the demands of college athletics and academics. In addition to his achievements in the classroom and on the playing field, David has spoken numerous outreach activities. Thompson was a key figure in the "Best of America" program which took place April 4, 1996. The program reached nearly 22,000 students across the state of Oklahoma and provided positive messages for personal and academic development.

David Thompson exemplifies what is good in college athletics and truly represents the term "student athlete". The staff of ASSA, and the Athletic Department would like to thank David for his committment to OSU and wish him the best of luck as he moves into his senior season.

David Thompson was born and raised in Okmulgee, Oklahoma with five brothers and one sister. He enjoys going home to Okmulgee and spending time with friends and family. His hobbies include riding motorcycles, horseback riding and doing carpentry work. David is a speech communications major and plans to go into the field of broadcasting.
